Wednesday, October 4

From Newark, we flew North along the U. S. coast, south of Greenland, Iceland, and over Ireland.  Dawn and Al flew in the same pattern, but from Atlanta. 3,723 miles from Newark to Amsterdam!  We arrived about 7:15 local time and Dawn and Al an hour later. We met at the Radisson where we will be spending the next 2 nights.
What a quaint, old city Amsterdam is!  Had lunch and dinner at two different cafes. We took a boat ride on a canal. It's been a tiring day and still got in 10,000 steps!  We are trying to adjust to the 6 hour time difference with not much sleep on the plane!
This was the view from where we had dinner!
Look at all the bikes!  You have to be so careful walking!  The bikes have the right of way!

There are 2,500 houseboats along the canals. Some that we saw needed repair and some were beautiful.

Just to give you a feel for the quaintness of the city. This part of Amsterdam is 500 years old!  Can you imagine???

  3. We know you are tired but we are so happy to see these great pictures of Amsterdam. We can't wait to hear stories of Anne Frank's house too. Maybe you are sleeping now and will do that in the morning. I'm so confused with the time change - 8 hours between us now😘 Sleep well and enjoy.
